Half Day Trip – Family Fishing
"(Captain) Scott is affable, knowledgable, patient, and engaging. His boat is clean, inviting, and FAST, but also smooth across the water. His half day trip was a perfect way for my son and I to “get our feet wet” (pun intended) on charter trips in the bay.

To put it shortly, this booking was a complete jackpot. My son and I cannot wait to do it again, and, God willing, we will definitely hook up with Scott again in our near future."

Half Day Trip – Family Fishing
"Captain Scott, his boat and equipment were excellent. He was incredible with my 6 and 9 year old boys. This was their first fishing trip ever and I could not have been happier with the experience they had. We were catching Spot fish 2 at a time and the boys were thrilled.

The captain kept our hooks constantly baited and attended to all of our needs. We all loved the fast boat as well, at one point I think we hit 50+ mph. Looking forward to the fall where we can hook into some bigger fish."

Rex Barmby
Rex has been fishing and hunting from when he could hold a rod or shoot a gun or bow. His grandfather was a bass fishing guide on Lake Anna, VA and was a founding member of the Potomac Bassmasters club. Laura, his mother, still fishes with the custom rawhide rod that Rex’s grandfather had made for her when she was 10. You might say fishing is in his DNA.

Rex has a great knowledge of both offshore and inshore fishing. He has competed in tournaments on both the ocean and the bay. He brings the experience and knowledge of offshore fishing to the bay chasing trophy fish.

The USCG Captains license process is not easy, and Rex has completed the classes and has to take all the required tests to be a 100 ton master captain. He is in the process of completing the few remaining steps to get his USCG credentials.

Rex has a 6-year-old son and loves to take kids fishing and work with folks new to the sport of fishing. Come spend a day on the water with Captain Scott and soon to be Captain Rex.

Laura Barmby
Laura was born into a fishing family. She grew up on Lake Anna, VA fishing with her dad who was one of the first guides on the lake and also guided on the Potomac river. They started fishing offshore when she was 10 years old, and she got her first custom fishing rod from her dad the same year.

Fast forward 10 years and she gets married to another fishing nut Captain Scott. Laura and Scott have two adult children, Rex and Julia. Laura loves to help out when kids and ladies are on the trips and has fished tournaments as a member of the Light Tackle Ladies fishing team.

Giovanni Gargano
Meet Giovanni Gargano, a lifetime local of the Chesapeake Bay. One with passion for the bay and surrounding waters that is hard to come by. Since he was young, he has spent his time putting around on Jon boats, kayaks, and any other means of being able to spend time on the water that he has grown to love.

After leaving the software sales industry in January, he decided it was time to execute his life long goal of putting friends, family, and clients on fish and began the process to become a USCG licensed Captain.

He is currently finishing up the last few requirements to complete the process. With over 2600 hours on his Hobie Fishing Kayak in the last 3 years alone it's pretty easy to tell that the obsession for spending time on the water nearly consumes him.

Whether chasing Trophy Stripers throughout the winter months, Speckled Trout in the late spring/fall, and the drag peeling Bull Redfish, Cobia, and Sheepshead throughout the summer - to say the least he is hooked!

“The options on the Chesapeake are endless throughout the year and I’m here to see as much of them as I can. The excitement of catching fish still allows me to experience that same rush of adrenaline I got as a child fishing with my father - and if anything it has grown by ten fold. Watching and helping others catch fish no matter the experience level brings me that same exact feeling of joy and excitement.”

-Giovanni Gargano

Captain Scott
As a father of two and grandfather, Captain Scott takes special joy in ensuring an amazing trip for anglers of all skill levels.

He combines education, courtesy, and excitement to make fishing fun for all. If you’re looking for an upbeat captain to provide you and your family with the trip of a lifetime, look no further!

January & February
Both are great months to target a trophy “catch and release” giant striped bass!

Contact us ASAP as this is a very limited window of opportunity.

March
March it is still cold. But can be a great month to target a trophy “catch and release” giant striped bass!

Contact us ASAP as this is a very limited window of opportunity.

April
It is Tarpon season in the Keys and we will be there fishing for part of the month. Contact us ASAP to book your trip 🐠

Striper season is closed. However, April is the time for the annual spring Shad run on the Potomac River! GREAT fly-fishing opportunity and we will be back to capitalize on this great fishery!

May & June
The middle bay is great this time of year. Some trophy rockfish are still around, and good fish are starting to set up on structure. In the lower bay islands, lots of great striper fishing is the norm. The perch have come out into the main bay and sea trout are showing up!

July, August, & September
Spanish Mackerel, bluefish, and lots of schooling stripers are showing up to the party. It’s game on for breaking fish and bird shows! Fly rod time and great for keeping young anglers entertained.

If you are looking to target bull redfish or cobia this is the time of year you have been waiting for.

October, November, & December
The Bay is cooling off and the action on 24”-40” PLUS stripers are heating up!

We start to see the ocean fish coming back up the Bay and this is a great time to target BIG rockfish on fly.

These are 4 to 8 hour trips, and we will be fishing EVERY day weather permits!
